✖ HOWS MY DRIVING? ✖

New to the game? New characters? Just a little unsure of how you're doing? That's what this is here for, people.

How it works: Comment here - others will reply to that comment with what they have to say, and hopefully many lulz and happifuntimes will be had. We're encouraging asking questions if you don't know why or how a character got to the point they're at in game, and we're encouraging constructive criticism that isn't:

"Oh, you're so good bb!"
or
"I hate you. Diaf."

So make it good! You only get one shot every other month, right? At any rate, before you go off to comment, remember: You will get comments you agree with, and you will get comments you don't agree with; thus is the way of life. Don't take it personal. Don't get angry and start trolling. These people don't have anything against you as a person — unless, uh, they do, which we won't abide by — and we're all here to have fun, right? So let's act like it.

Anonymous comments have been temporarily enabled in the OOC community for the sake of anonymous crit, but as this privilege was abused last time and the moderators had to intervene, as promised this time around we are keeping logging IP on. We will not be checking the IP-addresses unless things get out of hand, nor will we be sharing them ever, but this is a measure in place to help prevent further abuse of anonymous commenting. If this causes discomfort, most players, as well as the mods, have personal HMDs on their journals. You are also free to contact any moderators privately or by PMing this account.

Go forth and conquer, Cape and Cowl.

Other comments? baw I know I haven't been around with Deadpool like I should but he's a high energy character that I have to be in a certain mood to tag around with :C I WILL WORK ON IT!!

I have found it difficult to complete threads with you due to thread dropping. I haven't brought it up in the past because the threads we've had have been largely silly, but it has made me hesitant to plot anything with you for fear that it would not be finished. I think your playing would greatly benefit from taking a look at how often you drop threads and why in order to take steps to rectify it. I enjoy tagging you and would love to do more that isn't handwaved plotting.

I agree and I've really been trying to work on thread dropping lately. It's hard with Deadpool though, because once I run out of that certain mood it takes to come up with the random crap he says, I get kinda hopeless about the thread? Like, I tend to feel like it's better to let something go than to let it get boring when I end up repeating the same jokes over and over or something. :( I'll definitely take your comment into consideration though.

HEY IT FEELS LIKE I AM RESPONDING A BAJILLION YEARS LATER but I can see that! DP has got be really challenging and I don't blame you for becoming discouraged. I don't know if you've tried this (if you have, disregard this!), but if I am stuck on a thread, I will leave it be and think on it for a little bit. Occasionally I will simply have my character disconnect, or change the subject for a different direction.

Seconding what Ryan said— I love your characters, and I think you have a real talent for carrying each unique voice, and keeping the threads lively and interesting. But you drop so many threads that I find I've stopped tagging you in the first place. I've gotten the feeling from the thread-dropping that you don't think my characters or threads are interesting enough to continue, so I felt a little bad imposing them on you and stopped trying.

If it's just a matter of running out of things to say, I definitely have that trouble too! Sometimes I get myself in the mindset of "okay just tag this with SOMETHING"; it might be a little inane or empty, but if the thread has been good so far, a brief lapse in that won't hurt anything— keeping the thread going means it has the chance to pick back up into something interesting again. Dropping it nulls the chance of that better than a crap response!

I have been (and definitely will continue!!) trying to improve on threaddropping which I know is a big problem of mine.

But I tend reply back with the tags that come easiest first, and by the time I get around to the ones I'd been stuck on, where can't think up something witty or interesting or something that will be equally engaging to the other person, it's embarrassingly late to reply! I admit I tend to awkwardly drop it, because I always feel really weird about backtagging idk. It's not about your characters or threads, but where I'm at mentally when I'm playing. Sorry! :(
