a bit GAMEly if i do say so

August 26th, 10AM. Your world shifts again... But a little differently than before.

In reaction to the imPort presence and consequential escape from New Vesuvius, Vulcanus has been frenzied for a way to contain imPorts, even temporarily. So desperate and furious was Vulcanus in light of the imPort escape via Clotho that they saw no other option than to force an offensive attack: they conceived the quiet and highly short-term solution of entrapping imPorts into a video game – and a standard RPG D&D-inspired sort of video game at that.

Your character will be trapped in the incredibly fictional world of Asthenoa, a medieval-fantasy setting that provides the trap for your character. Your character will KNOW who they are and that they're not directly in the City anymore, and they might even figure out that their environment is very gamesque (perhaps the repetitive behavior of the NPC townsfolk give it away). You will have your communicators with you by merit of a glitch, compliments of Lachesis. That is the only City item you can have on you. You will not have any of your powers. Vulcanus has long ago perfect power dampeners and nullifiers, and they have incorporated that in their imPort-only game.

You can choose for your character their class occupation (mage, paladin, rogue, knight, etc) and the SINGULAR WEAPON that they get within the video game from the lists in the comment below. You must sign-up in this post. Sign-ups are open until the plot begins.

MECHANISMS
There are two "levels" to the video game. One is getting somewhere, the other is getting out of somewhere.

LEVEL ONE: ASTHENOA includes a castle, a town, an underground, and an enchanted forest. Lachesis Queen of Glitches has instilled an urge within you, and you know you must move past the enchanted forest. You don't know there's a volcano labyrinth beyond that, but you know you need to get there. Vulcanus doesn't want you to escape, obvious, so they created a specific set of sequences that your character has to complete before leveling up. How does this work? When you comment signing up, I will reply to you with three prompts, in the vein of "you serenade a handsome lad" or "you ask another character for directions" -- random actions suited to the setting. You have to incorporate all three prompts before leveling up. NO CHEATING! You can't incorporate all three prompts in one tag! But you don't have to have all three prompt in just one thread, feel free to spread them out! Share the love. Tag new people. When the plot starts there will be a post for you to post your achievements, so others can enjoy!

Remember that you don't have to have a game-ready "party" -- you can join up with groups and disperse as you wish.

LEVEL TWO: THE LABYRINTH is a dark, scary maze within a dormant volcano. It runs riot with Vulcanus beasties and monsters. When the plot begins, there will be a list of mythical beasts to battle. YOU the player will roll in an RNG and that will determine what beast you battle. You can battle multiple beasties at once if you're in a party, but each roll you make only counts as one action arc. One action arc = one monster fought. You need anywhere from two to seven action arcs to beat the game. You can decide what number of action arcs you'd like, as dependent on your schedule and plot plans.

Those who escape early might want to alert the community about Vulcanus, or start a retaliation (either via media or other means).

This is a completely voluntary plot, sign-ups are in post. Vulcanus will be utilizing their freshly honed spacetime transportation capabilities by porting characters into a game, one specifically designed by Vulcanus for this event. The physical video game itself is located in the City, and it’s running on an impressive computer in an empty warehouse. It is not advisable to attack the physical game.

From 10AM on the 26th to 11PM on the 31st, this video game will be running. You don't necessarily have to stay in the game the entire time, because when you beat the labyrinth level you will be zapped out of the game and returned to any random place along the east coast (your choosing). If you don't beat the labyrinth level, you will be returned to the City on the dot, 11PM on the 31st. However! There are incentives to playing the game in full, as follows:

INCENTIVES
Beating the game = you keep ONE ITEM from the video game, and thus materialize it in the City.
Beating the game + performing your three prompts in three different threads (that are more than collectively five comments) = you keep ONE ITEM from the video game and ONE SENTIENT ANIMAL inherent in the video game.
Beating the game + making new CR with a character you haven't had CR with previously = you'll get PM'd information on one Vulcanus ranking individual and you can do what you will with that information. If you don't think your character could ICly research and come across this information alone (or at all), you can pass that information onto another player and work together for a plot.

At the end of the plot, you will prove your achievements in the wrap-up post.

CLASS: Berseker
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF APPEARANCE: she's a 5'11 girl with a thin build, but her limbs, covered in green warpaint reminiscent of porrim's tattoos, show the muscles of someone not unfamiliar with hard work. she's wearing burgundy leather armor fortified with black steel plates, right down to her skirt. her head is uncovered except for more warpaint, and her hair's a short black undercut.
WEAPON OF CHOICE: Longsword

so fighting the skeleton hunters is probably not an acceptable solution

You can fight them initially, before the prompt is fulfilled! They'd be wholly your NPCs, and they won't count as level two beasties, but you can incorporate their presence as the consequence of one of your other prompts (as long as it's not within the same prompt tag).
