plotting post & character deaths;;

details & stipulations
So... what is this?
This is the plotting post! If you want to run an event involving multiple characters, the worldbuild, significant property damage, or any character death whatsoever, you've got to get it cleared by the mods! This is also where you can get permission for your character to acquire one additional communicator if necessary, or to solicit for a filter over the 8 character cap.

Why?
Everyone likes having fun with plots, but it can get pretty overwhelming if there are, say, six different major City-shaking events over the course of one holiday weekend. To keep everyone up to speed -- and to make sure isn't the speed of light -- we try to schedule plots so they don't overlap. Hard to run a successful charity bake sale in the middle of the zombie apocalypse, after all!

"Multiple characters"? How many does that mean?
Three or more! While something like "Jane has a sleepover and her friends are invited" wouldn't need approval, "Jane gets kidnapped and her friends stage a rescue" would.

Significant property damage?
Are you blowing up a building? Are you driving a tank through the front doors of the court house? Talk to us. But if it's a character's personal residence, that's fine, just don't blow up the neighborhood.

The worldbuild?
The world of C&C may be a pretty large sandbox, but we like to know when someone is going to spray down some of that sand with paint and gasoline.

Character death? But what if it's just an NPC?
NPCs too! If anyone is kicking the bucket, we need to know! If your character is the type that, for one reason or another, regularly kills a number of people, we sometimes grant by-month allowances for a certain number of NPC deaths.

Why do I need permission for a new communicator / a filter?
Because there are limits and they exist for a reason! Additionally, it helps us keep track of which characters are allowed to do what.

Anything else I need to know?
If and once your plot is approved, you are required to post a public notice to [community profile] capeandcowlooc at least 24 hours in advanced of the start of the plot. If it will require sign-ups or volunteers, we recommend at least 48 hours notice, as well as labeling the post with the appropriate tags. And when you're thinking about scheduling, check the Plot Calendar out to see what's already on tap for the next few months!
