New to the game? New characters? Just a little unsure of how you're doing? That's what this is here for, people.

How it works: Comment here - others will reply to that comment with what they have to say, and hopefully many lulz and happifuntimes will be had. We're encouraging asking questions if you don't know why or how a character got to the point they're at in game, and we're encouraging constructive criticism that isn't:

"Oh, you're so good bb!"
or
"I hate you. Diaf."

So make it good! You only get one shot every other month, right? At any rate, before you go off to comment, remember: You will get comments you agree with, and you will get comments you don't agree with; thus is the way of life. Don't take it personal. Don't get angry and start trolling. These people don't have anything against you as a person — unless, uh, they do, which we won't abide by — and we're all here to have fun, right? So let's act like it.

Anonymous comments have been temporarily enabled in the OOC community for the sake of anonymous crit, but as this privilege was abused last time and the moderators had to intervene, as promised this time around we are keeping logging IP on. We will not be checking the IP-addresses unless things get out of hand, nor will we be sharing them ever, but this is a measure in place to help prevent further abuse of anonymous commenting. If this causes discomfort, most players, as well as the mods, have personal HMDs on their journals. You are also free to contact any moderators privately or by PMing this account.

Other comments? I've been a bit slow lately thanks to real life and some IC developments, but I'm hoping to pick up the pace with the coming modplot and its consequences. In the mean time, in addition to my HMD, I also have an opt-out post if you'd like me to avoid tagging you with Archer, since his canon is pretty terrible and I can understand being discomforted by it. On the IC front, I'll just note that Archer has been particularly antagonistic and antisocial lately due to the combined consequences of the cast explosion and his own canon update. If anyone has any ideas for how to get him to chill, I'd be happy to hear them.

Other comments? Julian has been in game for over two years now. This makes him 19 icly and I've been trying to slowly get him involved in more mature plots as a result (for example the DOI Skrullplot, followed by his still ongoing work with Bobbi and Nick Fury).

Activity wise I've been struggling a little over the last while. I've been finding it hard to get back into the swing of things after my hiatus in July. Other comments? I have been pretty scattered since I've been working six days a week. Due to this, I haven't been present in the best way. I fear I've probably missed some things, or generally been unreliable during this time, and for that I apologize in advance. I did a few thread drops, which I hate to do, but I'm all right with picking them up if anyone brings them to my attention. My hectic hours should end by this month and I will be able to keep up with things more efficiently soon.

As I know this is a failing of mine: I will be making endeavors to tag out much more next month with both my characters -- although I am often reserved about this in general. I might be over-cautious, but neither of my characters are particularly pleasant and I am wary of offending unless the subject matter I tag into already seems naturally suited. I know Kirei in particular (by both the extension of his generally messed up nature and his canon) can be intensely off-putting, so I do feel cautious about just throwing him at people. Both of them have opt-out posts on their journals, and I will take absolutely zero offense if you use those. Additionally, Kirei has been tied up with a lot of castmate consequences, and that should all die down soon too.

    My activity in July tanked for what I hope have been clear reasons—I went on two separate trips out of state, which collectively took more than half the month, and getting back on the ball has been a bit slower going because of a full-time job that started immediately after my return. It may not seem like a big change, but I'm still getting used to how it affects my creative energy levels.

Right now, I'm mostly focused on logs with Ruka, who's in a bit of a delicate & volatile emotional space, but I'm hoping to get her back into network threading and posting within the week. For those keeping track at home, she's been in game for 4 years and six months at this point, going from 11 to 16, so I've been doing my best to make her aging and development believable, especially in reaction to the numerous stressors of City life—so if you have any pointers or questions, please let me know.
