there is no void

So it's been a chaotic month, and unfortunately that's not about to end juuuuust yet. The Sentry here, extremely powerful golden superhero whose mental stability has been hanging on by a thread, is finally buckling under. He's been struggling in the City for about two years now without many major episodes and even tried NOHoPE to see if it would help, but Loki and Alex (though the logs are still ongoing/yet to be completed!) have been the straws to break the camel's back.

What does this mean? It means on the 2nd of September (so five days away), the Sentry's violent, destructive other personality known as the Void is going to take over things for him. You'll know him when you see him.


While the Void maintains most of the Sentry's abilities (flight, super strength, etc.), he also has a couple of powers that the Sentry never uses. On the evening of the 2nd, he'll summon a storm (rain and thunder) over most of the City, leaving the sky basically looking like this for the duration.

Another thing the Void does has is something I'm going to dub "trauma tentacles" which are basically exactly what they sound like. Being stabbed by them isn't fatal, but it forces someone to relieve the most traumatic moments of their lives for as long as they remain in contact with it, and there are residual (but impermanent) affects even afterward if in contact for a long amount of time.

ANYWAY. The Void mostly likes to cause chaos, especially in retaliation for good things that the Sentry does, but since in a way (well, in many ways) they are the same person, the Sentry's anger and frustration will be unleashed via the Void. He'll be lashing out at the City although no damage will be done to the subways!!

But he will be breaking the Brooklyn Bridge a little bit (it's not Asgard, but it'll do), and setting fire to some buildings (salvageable!), damaging some streets/cars/whatever, but, that will be the overall damage paid to the City. The damage paid to people (and to Loki, heh) is another story.

And here is where you come in. Because since the Sentry can't stop the Void, someone else will have to step in and kill him because Bob can't do that himself. So, sign-ups!

Casualties: If you'd like your character to fight the Void and get injured or killed doing it, or simply get injured or killed as a relatively innocent bystander or whatever else, I'll take up to ten people for sign-ups! This includes getting trauma tentacled. Remember: if you want your character to die, that also goes to the plot post.

Take-down: He's of course not as powerful in-game as he is in canon, but the Sentry is a tough opponent and the Void is, too. After all is said and done and the Void is dead (and after the log concludes) I'll be dropping him. It has been an absolute, perfect blast playing Bob here and I will miss his CR so much, but his character arc is finally drawing to a conclusion after two amazing years and sadly, there isn't anywhere else for him to go from there.
