How do you feel about fictional countries lately?
Hey all!
Remember all those newsposts about Sue Storm's awesome synthetic skin discovery? Well, uhh. Here's something to go along with that.
Over the past few months, Doom has been steadily replacing several key UN officials, as well as their staff with very fancy, very convincing Doombots. Unfortunately, there's a slight flaw with the way the skin affixes to the metal used in his Cityverse Doombots. As such, this week one hapless secretary type will see her bosses face literally fall off, and Doom's plot will have a chance of getting out. I've already contacted people involved in the City Hall cast about things for this, but if anybody else wants to maybe get an inkling to Doom's plot before hand, let me know.
This will unfortunately accelerate Doom's timeline (he wanted several more months of planning, but you know, sometimes things just happen) such that from September 15-17th, he will be taking over the entire UN Building, as well as a few blocks of the surrounding area in the name of New Latveria. He will declare it an official annex of a country that doesn't exist until such time as the said fictional country is granted full UN privileges and voting rights for its delegation (which consists of him. Funny how that works.) As a note (and because I like maps), I've highlighted the rough area he'll be taking over here. It's not huge, but enough to screw over a section of the 7 train, and a very populated section of Midtown.
So what can you guys do about it? Well, Doom's plan isn't perfect. He was building it on a longer timeline and that kind of got messed up. As such, there are ways for hero-type characters to get in and take him down. There's also hostages to be rescued! All of those UN officials (literally all of them, and their staff) are being kept in the building. Those replaced by Doombots are also in the building, just trapped in a secret sub-basement under robotic guard or something equally terrifying. Also, I am totally open for some big damn hero killing Doom at the end of this. Please, be my guest. He doesn't really know the strength of his magic here and needs something to really bring it home to him.
Any questions? Comments? Concerns? I'll be happy to hear them. Otherwise, there will be a newspost announcing the takeover very very early morning on the 15th, and a log going up that will be set for late afternoon on the 17th as it gets closer. But yeah questions. Come at me, bro.

But actually, April is the one who will be intercepting that secretary. Maybe he could hear about it after the fact?

Mordin would probably know the most, after Susan, about the way the Doombots function and the differences between them and the actual people left in the UN building. Would he be interested in passing along that kind of information to others in the rescue party? I just envision total chaos when trying to identify which officials are Doombots and which are human if someone doesn't at least know how to look for them.

And his nose is not stupid.
