New to the game? New characters? Just a little unsure of how you're doing? That's what this is here for, people.

How it works: Comment here - others will reply to that comment with what they have to say, and hopefully many lulz and happifuntimes will be had. We're encouraging asking questions if you don't know why or how a character got to the point they're at in game, and we're encouraging constructive criticism that isn't:

"Oh, you're so good bb!"
or
"I hate you. Diaf."

So make it good! You only get one shot every other month, right? At any rate, before you go off to comment, remember: You will get comments you agree with, and you will get comments you don't agree with; thus is the way of life. Don't take it personal. Don't get angry and start trolling. These people don't have anything against you as a person — unless, uh, they do, which we won't abide by — and we're all here to have fun, right? So let's act like it.

Anonymous comments have been temporarily enabled in the OOC community for the sake of anonymous crit, but as this privilege was abused last time and the moderators had to intervene, as promised this time around we are keeping logging IP on. We will not be checking the IP-addresses unless things get out of hand, nor will we be sharing them ever, but this is a measure in place to help prevent further abuse of anonymous commenting. Keeping external factors in mind, I've felt a real lack of presence from the mod team for the past several months. I feel that I really only see Jesse and Gabbie tagging around or running plots. In particular, the modplot seemed to come to a complete halt for the entirety of November without the resolution post. There are five moderators, so I'm not entirely sure why one of you couldn't have made that post. As a player who has invested a lot of time into the ongoing plot, I felt very let down. I personally put other plans on hold because I was waiting for that bit of the plot to wrap up, and having talked to other players about this, I can safely say there are others who feel this same way. Story lines and plot threads were left untouched because we weren't sure how the world build may have changed in the wake of the Venezuela plot, and characters who made it their business to actively pursue Vulcanus had nothing to go on for that period of time.

Additionally I've noticed that some player plots have had to be moved around and rescheduled to accommodate the modplot while the modplot hasn't advanced at all. I chalk this up to maybe poor communication between Leah and Sara? I can't say for sure, but it might make more sense for one person to be in charge of all of the plotting instead of two people.

There's also the issue of concerns being addressed in a timely manner. I've noticed that it can take weeks or longer to hear back from the mod team when they've been contacted in an official capacity.

TL;DR I found it very frustrating. I'm excited for the next phase of the plot, but for the first time, I'm questioning the handling of the plot. I wonder if perhaps having an additional moderator would help to alleviate this issue, or perhaps having plot/mod helpers to make sure events and information are posted in a timely manner. I'm not sure how feasible this is, but I felt that this should at least be considered and discussed.

I appreciate the work you're putting into the game and I look forward to a bigger mod presence and better communication with the game at large in the future.

I have a concern based on that Evan-police plot you were plurking about recently! I was and am really enthusiastic to see where Evan as an officer could go, but it also got me to recall that your characters go through these arcs a fair bit.

By my count, Ra's al Ghul, Max Lord, Harvey Dent, and Norman Osborn (twice) have had plots where they deceived their way into a position of legitimate power and authority where heroes couldn't legally combat them. I know and appreciate that you always put a lot of time and planning into making these arcs plausible.

I'm concerned about how these arcs seem to have the same general structure and effect, and what effect that has on the worldbuild when the Cityverse's authorities fail repeatedly in this way. I don't want to discourage you from them- especially Evan's- but I am wondering at the commonality and the implications.

Gamzee does pretend to be more unstable than he really is when Karkat isn't around in an attempt to make himself seem more harmless in general because if people realize that Gamzee can be somewhat calm without Karkat around and then realize he'll do awful things in a calm state then he's never really safe to be around and Gamzee doesn't want that. This is simply because Gamzee is up to things and he's also had some very bad experiences with facing consequences in game, he also hides in a vent shaft in canon to avoid getting sliced in half by Kanaya so this is hopefully not too surprising a behavior of him.

Re: Chief I do see your struggles come across ICly. Most of the time he is reading very "one-note" to me with nothing to distinguish him from your other characters. I don't play Halo so I don't know how much I can help you rectify anything, but it can be very difficult to reply to him with so little to go on. Because of his clash with the setting, however, I do think it is a character that takes a great deal of thought and planning to RP successfully in a more slice-of-life game. I haven't seen a lot of thought or planning go into him thus far.

And regarding Cross, I see you recycling a lot of storylines/responses I guess. As someone who's played characters for long durations I know how hard it can be to make things fresh, but I did find it odd that Cross only talked about how much Spike 'cried' when he used to do that in DDD? And how Cross was always stealing lions. Maybe he steals lions every week in canon, you know I am not familiar with DGM so tell me if I'm off but it can make him come across as more of a comedic pillar than an actual character.

Just a few things to think about, you know I'm always here to ask questions etc.

You've been told this already, but the Thungerdome plot and the long, involved build-up to it was really impressive and well-done. You deserve praise for the patience and restraint necessary to keep HABIT secret yet present for so long while putting things in place. The actual plot when executed (heh executed) was a really good example of ambition, emotional impact, new CR, organization and communication.

Do you have long-term plans for what to do with HABIT now? Is it going to run more large-scale schemes like Thungerdome?

Other comments? My activity this month has been incredibly poor due to a family emergency, but I have no excuse for November. I intend to rectify this at the soonest possible time.

Aranea is an entirely new character for me! Going over her threads during my down time, I've noticed I tend to write fairly generic responses. I hope to fix this, so if you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them. Beside that, I'm tagging far too much into the cast and not so much with other characters, which is a habit I'm aiming to break.
