Beginning tomorrow, strange things will start to happen to the Cityverse. These are all elements that foreshadow what is to come, and players are encouraged to react to the stimuli. Bigger changes come with the New Year, and whatever is breaking apart the world now will be noticed. This is all prelude to the reboot information ongoing in January, when a post will come in the first week!



December 29th
3:06 PM
A loud, resounding metallic buzz can be heard worldwide. The noise is consistent for forty-two minutes, before it abruptly ceases.
4:15 PM
Any structure over six stories tall begins to elongate, as if being stretched out like a string of spaghetti. This includes bridges, radio towers, buildings. Natives or imPorts in such structures may need assistance -- the elongation happens slowly enough, but it can be fatal if you get caught within it, and thus spaghettified. Aircraft in flight is unaffected. The structures will continue to elongate and spiral out into the stratosphere.
December 30th

Giant squid will have beached themselves along coastal shores.
7:00 PM
An aggressive super-thunderstorm looms over the City. It is incredibly violent and destructive, its lightning bolts often striking at lower and more grounded objects than what lightning usually strikes at. The storm lasts eight hours.
December 31st
10:01 AM
The Isle Francis breaks from its geological foundation and begins to float over the United States eastward at speeds of 700 MPH.
12:45 PM
An urge will compel some individuals (optional involvement) to react with intense sadness or heightened aggression to anything. These individuals will be obvious by a sudden obscuring of their irises (white eyes, and only black pupils). This epidemic will last exactly 24 hours.
11:16 PM
Isle Francis will hover over the Manhattan area of the City, slowly breaking apart for about two hours. At this point, it's possible for flora and fauna to fall over the City.
January 1st, 2014

The photons of the sun will mysteriously shine red.
January 2nd

The sun is still shining red.
11:38 AM
The ground rumbles, as if something incredibly large is moving beneath the City.
2:00 PM
Buildings begin to collapse -- but upwards, like they're sucked into the sky instead of falling to the ground.
2:46 PM
People will start evacuating. Looting can occur.
January 3rd
12:00 AM
Some vegetation (plants, trees, areas of grass) begins to die, and rot.
4:00
The ocean begins to quickly evaporate.
7:12 PM
SOMETHING cracks through the moon.

Most hospitals average a 12 story height, with notable hospitals like Bellevue Hospital Center occupying 25 stories. NOHoPE is three stories tall, thus beneath the limit. Any structure or building that is six stories or taller than six stories is affected.

They can indeed be calmed via appropriate superpowers! The calming effect has the option of being temporary, and the epidemic will end in 24 hours regardless.

The building materials spiral out to the earth's atmosphere and away from the ground, as if slowly being sucked into a black hole.

They have the option of doing so, especially if the people they're interacting with are persuasive. You can play that out however you'd like!
