As of about 8:30-40 tonight, Jaime Reyes is dead.
Kind of.
He was dead for about seven minutes, then revived. Mostly. With a bullet to the head being currently worked on by surgeons to not be in his head, and for all intents and purposes, he's dead. And will remain as such for a while.
He wasn't a target, but he was collateral damage. There's a whole thing to this.
The 11 o'clock news will make note of this story, for one man was shot very permanently dead, two others injured, and that Jaime Reyes kid seemed to miraculously shock himself back to the land of the (mostly) living. It will be noted efforts made to contact family are futile because duh.
Don't consider him utterly out, but a thing will happen later on. Right now, though, friends are welcome to visit a vegetable strangely able to breathe without a machine in that there hospital room.
For those who like to do the detectivey/cop/sleuthy hero thing, please let me know if you're interested in receiving further details on this! I can give you what trail you can pick up, and folks can plot together to go sleuthing and have lovely detective/chase-the-bad-guy CR for us all to enjoy. :)
