New to the game? New characters? Just a little unsure of how you're doing? That's what this is here for, people.

How it works: Comment here - others will reply to that comment with what they have to say, and hopefully many lulz and happifuntimes will be had. We're encouraging asking questions if you don't know why or how a character got to the point they're at in game, and we're encouraging constructive criticism that isn't:

"Oh, you're so good bb!"
or
"I hate you. Diaf."

So make it good! You only get one shot every other month, right? At any rate, before you go off to comment, remember: You will get comments you agree with, and you will get comments you don't agree with; thus is the way of life. Don't take it personal. Don't get angry and start trolling. These people don't have anything against you as a person — unless, uh, they do, which we won't abide by — and we're all here to have fun, right? So let's act like it.

Anonymous comments have been temporarily enabled in the OOC community for the sake of anonymous crit, but as this privilege was abused last time and the moderators had to intervene, as promised this time around we are keeping logging IP on. We will not be checking the IP-addresses unless things get out of hand, nor will we be sharing them ever, but this is a measure in place to help prevent further abuse of anonymous commenting. If this causes discomfort, most players, as well as the mods, have personal HMDs on their journals. You are also free to contact any moderators privately or by PMing this account.

Other comments? Nothing other than my activity has been really low quality because I have started college back in August and I've been pretty active with college life. Like I've become a student leader already and I'm just super busy. :(

I am a big fan of your Quentin and I follow a lot of your threads. I don't think your activity has been necessarily bad but I have noticed that you have been dropping a lot of threads after one or two comments. Have you thought about maybe just backing off and perhaps taking a hiatus or perhaps just not tagging out as much if you are really busy?

This is my bad, actually. Sometimes I will check my email on the run and forget that I opened it. If you could believe it, I get over 50 emails a day from school alone. I want to take a hiatus but I feel like with QQ, we would need some sort of excuse? And I don't want to port him out because I never know when I'm available to sit down and play. I want him to be there when I am free to play so that's my debate . Plus I don't want to deal with the effects of him being ported out? This is just personal preference on my behalf. Also that's funny that you think I tag out a lot still? I will back off but I really think I haven't tagged much.

If I ever drop a thread and you would like me to continue it, just holler at me. I may not be able to get to it right away but ill get to it ASAP.

I apologize for this answer being weirdly structured, I'm on my phone just now leaving the library.

It's not that I think you tag out a lot it's just that I've noticed with the threads that I have seen you start that you tend to drop them almost immediately recently. And if the players haven't said anything about it it's probably not bothering them, I only bring it up because I think if you're feeling overwhelmed or something maybe you should take a break.

I think if you're worried about the hiatus just give godmode rights to people who have close cr with you or even if you don't, just say he's around but busy or something similar or even take a semi-hiatus, especially if you haven't been tagging much to begin with. That way you can still tag if you end up having time.

No one has confronted me about dropping tags with them yet but I do admit it is a problem so thank you for bringing it to my attention! (And I do apologize to anyone reading this, just drop me a note somewhere where I can see it if you wish to continue any threads...)

I have already taken numerous semi-hiatus and I feel like another semi-hiatus would be unfair to his cr and other parties of interest. So it has to be a hiatus, but I want it to be a hiatus that makes sense and one that I can easily come out of. I know it's easy to say he's busy with something but I put a lot of thought and consideration into Quentin's personality, actions, and consequences so it's more of just personal nit-pick that I need a specific something to keep him busy with.

I don't mean to jump you and I do apologize if it comes off that way.

Can I ask why you can't just port him out while you're busy and when you're load lightens, port him back in? If you don't want to give godmod rights that's fine- but if you're going to be constantly busy and not sure when you'll have time to RP for a long period I honestly suggest just porting Quentin out or having him forced to go to the Institute.

Alternatively, if he's the type to do so, he could harass the Porter and be ported to another country with no way of getting back immediately and spending time elsewhere?

Because RP is my hobby and if I want to come back for two days and then re-focus on school, I can't just have him port out and then leave everyone's questions unanswered. That would be the equivalent of dropping threads with people which is what I want to fix, not reinforce by porting him out.

The thing is, I don't know my schedule until Tuesday because I'm on a student council organization and my job requires me to be readily available for them. It's a paid job, and if I don't do my job I lose quite a bit of scholarship money which is essential for me to finish college. Plus, everyone would know what a terrible job I did because we are a big organization that has other clubs and what not, come to us a lot. It's not just money involved, it's also reputation at my university.

Somedays I'll have a break, like right now I am studying for exams so I posted jointly with Striker and have been tagging during my little mini breaks. If I had him ported out, I wouldn't be given the privilege of doing little mini breaks like this. And to me, that's unfair on my behalf because I can't join things if I have time. Instead, it's another big hassle for me because I have to plan and reorganize when he'll come back to the game etc. etc.

Although I will take your last suggestion into consideration but I hope that clarifies why I do not wish to have him ported out of the game. RP is a hobby, not my priority.

Sorry if I seem snappy, as I keep saying. I'm studying for four exams. (A midterm, a final, an essay-type exam and a regular exam.) On top of that, I have other duties that I'm doing like organizing committees and etc. So I'm a little weary and stressed out.

As much as I love CNC, school is my priority. :( I want to graduate and get a good foot out in this economy.

Nobody is saying that school can't be your priority. I think mostly everyone can understand that school and other such things take alot of time and everyone faces real life stuff now and again. I think what is being said is that you should take the time you need but if you feel that you can't keep up with threads then it may be better just to take a hiatus or give yourself a break instead of starting and immediately dropping threads. But I don't feel that anyone is saying you should prioritize role-play over school or that you should be forced to port your character out.

Regardless they are just suggestions and not anything to stress about.

True that they are just suggestions but when they're repeatedly thrown at me, it really feels pressurizing. I know that's not the intent but I felt like I was parroting myself with repeated explanations. I repeatedly said school was a priority and that I want leniency in my hobby so that I can actually enjoy myself on my off times. No one said rp is to be my priority but the way my explanations have been ignored feels that anon(s) want rp to be my priority. Even now I feel like I am parroting my reasons so I am going to stop right here.
