Continuing preparations for this plot, this post is for sorting who is doing what this weekend beyond general monster fighting or assisting Cityzens (no sign-ups necessary for ass-kicking!). For the log itself, there will be three main threads, one for each night, and subthreads within the threads for playing out particular scenes- vampires vs. monsters vs. heroes on the first night or Major + hostages on the second, for instance. Let us know if you want a particular thread posted! In all cases monsters will be under your own control during fights; neither Maddie or I will be directly puppeting the NPCs. Let me or Maddie know if there are any questions!

Number one: Pink would like to A) Attempt evacuations of the MAC/elsewhere, getting noncombatants to safety. And B) Quietly ally with the Major in whatever fashion he'd be able to, preferably in trade for partial immunity or lowered priority of Blue Sky Foundation vehicles. (Though, honestly, if that's not feasible, he'd give him a sneaky little hand no matter what.)

Thoughts/ideas/consequences? Possibly a sub thread for evac efforts?
(Obviously, at the best, protection from the Major's forces wouldn't protect them from Angie's critters, and might at worst make them more valuable targets.)


Number two: Billy might be very useful, for tracking down the Major. His power is hearing radio transmissions in his head, so if there's a lot of extra radio chatter floating around the city, he'll be able to hear it, though he wouldn't be able to help track it down. He might be useful as the first step in that process, though...

Considering the Major's strategy revolves around using innocent people as leverage, the main thing he'd probably want from Pink is for those Blue Sky vehicles to tragically fall right into his lap. But threads for evacuation sound good! Important work for the noncombatants to do.

I'll put Billy on the techie list, because the Major's troops are so wired there will definitely be enough traffic to pique his attention. He can clue in others who in turn can trace the location, I think.

Hah, you know, he'd consider it. Briefly. (And more than briefly, if one transport would get the rest of them off...) But I think the only people he dislikes enough to do that to would all be combatants. He'll still give it a shot, ICly! And go about doing not-horrible things, for the rest of everything. Heh.

I kinda want Xanatos to quietly help Angelica out because he has experience with genetically modifying people (or at least, in Xanatos's case, hiring people to genetically modify people)

Peacock might ally herself with the Major in the vague way that she'd concentrate much more on the Doctor's critters than the vampires :T VIOLENCE IS FUN she probably wouldn't have any truck with taking hostages, though

Man, I always get a chuckle of Aurican becoming a hostage.

But then I find it funny of the idea if Aurican being one of the casualties by somehow getting buried by rubble or something. It won't kill him but it will make him extremely linefaise about the whole thing.

Is it possible for characters to take no sides and just kill both vampires and monsters? Aurican is more likely to do that than joining any side.

Is there anything in particular you want from the cops? I can't speak for the rest of copcast, but Greg here will definitely be out trying to (uselessly) keep tabs on where the fighting is so that he can broadcast it and keep people safe. And while Greg himself isn't a techie he'll definitely be providing support for people trying to track the Major down and rescue the hostages.

well these things look a lot harder to kill than the game constructs he fought back home! he will probably end up fighting the dogs more than vampires, only because they'd be easier to kill for him. he's free to be taken hostage if you want him, but otherwise he'll just be trying not to die. exactly how are hostages taken and held?

I would also like to know if there's anything specific you'd like from the police. Joel is definitely going to be out there trying to defend people from the fighting and rescue civilians.

I'd love it if Joel died during this plot! And I have an idea on how to do it too

Can Cassie see/warn the city about any of this either before it happens, or give any tips WHILE it's happening?

Yes, definitely! They are totally allowed to kill both! It just means that Angie and the Major will both "score points" as a result.

Dick could possibly attempt some type of blockade to (successfully or unsuccessfully) clear the way for some civilians to flee. Also I would be cool with him becoming a hostage if it fits somewhere! Preferably as Batman, unless the Major is likely to expose his identity. In that case it could be Dick taken!

Nothing particular, no! Everyone on copcast can have their characters react to this crisis as appropriate while controlling any NPC cops as they like. Although I should ask AJ what most of the NPCs would be doing- trying to fight or evacuate or what.

The Major will have specialized hit squads of vampires and superstrong mercenaries roaming town, targeting known Import locations- businesses, homes, the MAC, anywhere they might score a captive. The attack and pummeling may be played out or handwaved; either way once they've subdued their target it's back to the Major's command centre.

Hostages will be kept in separate rooms in a derelict high-rise apartment building. They'll be restrained, watched and guarded as is necessary to prevent their escape. The Major may pop in to monologue at them, and the walls are thin enough for them to talk to their neighbours if anyone wants hostage CR.

Nothing specific, although I should mention that since the Major's vamps are technically sentient beings, any of them that survive this and are taken captive will be tried and tossed in Superjail.

Yes and yes! As long as the warning isn't super-specific (haha when does that ever happen). Tips might include cluing people in to monster weaknesses or areas getting hit particularly hard.

I like this blockade idea! It will help limit the bloodshed and by extension point-gaining. I'm seeing Batman captured in a heroic stand to protect innocents- at which point yes, Major would have his cowl removed if it was possible.
