When the hammers batter down your door (brainstorming!)

Mr. Pinkerton sure has been doing a lot of good lately, hasn't he?  That nice fundraiser, the charity he started... but you can't have the good without the bad, especially when you have Floyd's tendency toward Good Life Decisions.

Some of Pink's native friends, they don't feel quite as warm and fuzzy toward imPorts as he does.  In fact, they'd really like nothing more than to see them all gone.  And, well, after another of his conversations with the Major, Pink is going to encourage them to send a message to that end.

What I would like for him to do is point his skinhead pals at imPort-run businesses and properties, and do a run of vandalism that'll conclude with an attempt to do some damage to the Clinic. The timeframe, the properties involved, and the amount of damage done are all quite flexible -- I don't want to involve anyone who would be uncomfortable, or put the Clinic completely out of commission, of course!

(My preference would be that Pink isn't immediately connected with the action, though at least some of his 'friends' can certainly be caught.  I've got a plan in mind for him, and this will be another step down a slippery slope that has a biiiig old pool of karmic backlash waiting at the bottom.  If a complete lack of consequences, just yet, is uncomfortable, I can easily set it up so there is suspicion cast upon him, which will make it more difficult for him to get away with his under-the-radar jackassery.)


I just need to know some things from you guys, before I get all the plotty paperwork together and put up a proper plotting and signup post.

ONE - Is there interest in this? If no one wants to see it happen, or there are people who would really prefer that it doesn't happen, it won't!

TWO - Are there are any dates coming up that would be really inconvenient to have this happen on? Or, OTOH, that would be perfect?

THREE - What would people feel like a good damage limit is, for the Clinic?  These are not crack troops, it can totally be anything from semi-successful arson to just nasty graffiti and broken windows.

So... thoughts? Operators are standing by!

For the upper limit of damage to the clinic I'd say just enough to force it to send some patients to other facilities. It would disrupt operations for a couple of weeks while repairs are made. That's my two cents on the matter anyway and with Geddoe and the mercs riding in at the end I don't think they'd have enough time to do much more than that.

Noted! I wasn't even thinking that far, though I hadn't settled on specifics! These are not exactly combat-hardened troops we're talking, here.

Maybe I'll do a dice roll and have that be the natural 20. Heh.

That was before I rolled and they sucked in every other way possible and I felt a little bad for them. XD I'm still game with a catch, really -- I was about to edit to 'but that's flexible' when you replied -- so, yeah. You wanna, I'm down.

Just so there's a record here, I am totally okay with damage to the clinic severe enough that some patients might need to be diverted. Andromeda (and Watson, I think) will of course be dealing with the majority of the on-site attacks, but if there is something of a protracted attack Geddoe and the mercs could come in at the end?

Unless they had just happened by during what was happening...which could also be a possibility! Alternatively, Andromeda and Watson can deal with people actually trying to get in to the clinic while Geddoe + the mercs take care of people trying to do outside damage.

Agreed with all of this- especially like the idea of splitting it up into John and Andromeda inside and Geddoe and the mercs outside- makes for less confusing threading :)

I've dropped Cap a PM, to see what they think, and when they reply, will point them here -- 'damage enough to divert operations' was definitely on the high end, and I so did not roll high enough for that. XD
