like a mansion for hugh DEATHner
Death rules play a little differently on New Vesuvius. If you die on New Vesuvius, you are resurrected the same day (the very next second, in fact) back in the City – but with a consequence.
For reference and deeper explanation in the prior modpost, please go right here. That page is also the sign-up post for this plot, and sign-ups are open until June 24th.
As a reminder, these consequences last in the physical world of the Cityverse for exactly five weeks from the day of death/resurrection. Some of these will defy the physics of biology.
Quality Displacement
Some quality of yours is displaced onto another imPort. If you play Character A and they’re displacing a quality to Character B, you require the permission of Character B’s player. Some qualities when lost will have an effect on Character A’s personality, as something to keep in mind.
1A) Your ability to fight with any non-firearm weapon (this does not include hand-to-hand combat).
1B) Your eye color (in which your irises are now colorless).
1C) Your ability to experience anger (in which Character B would experience how you experience anger).
1D) Your emotions concerning your parents or guardian figures (in which Character B adopts those emotions about your parents or guardian figures).
1E) Your ability to act selfishly (in which Character B would act as selfish as you would normally).
1F) All of your physical scars or permanent wounds.
1G) ONE of your Cityverse powers.
1H) Your memories of being in love (in which Character B would have access to all of those memories).
1I) Your passion for and investment in another character, who still in game (platonic passion, like friendship, is also sufficient).
1J) Your greatest fear.
1K) Your deepest ambition.
1L) Your most noble personality trait.
Animorphagonism
Some physical quality of yours (or lack thereof) is traded out for an animal’s physical quality.
2A) Malayan Sun Bear chest fur replaces your usual chest hair (or lack thereof) from the clavicle to the pelvis.
2B) Axolotl gills replace your ears. This does not affect your hearing.
2C) Aye-aye eyes replace your eyes. Aye. They have been resized to fit your eye sockets. This does not affect your vision during the daylight hours, but it does at night, in which you would see the way an Aye-aye does.
2D) Praying Mantis antennae replace two spots of skin on your forehead. You can use them to gauge humidity and smell things.
2E) Raccoon tail replaces your tail (or lack of tail).
2F) Asp tongue and fangs replace your tongue and two of your teeth. You don’t have venom sacs to produce venom, but you can use your tongue as a snake does. You have not lost your ability to verbally communicate.
2G) Mandrill buttocks replace your buttocks.
2H) Grasshopper front and hind wings replace your wings (or lack thereof). These do not allow you to fly at high speeds, long distances, above 400 feet, or even very well at all. But you can get off the ground.
2I) Jack Russell Terrier nose. It works as well as a dog nose should.
2J) Leopard whiskers replace your whiskers/facial hair/lack thereof. You cannot grow facial hair while you have these whiskers.
2K) Cockroach legs replace your legs. They match the initial number of legs you originally had (if you’re bipedal then you have two cockroach legs). You can still walk efficiently, and even run up to 50 MPH with them.
2L) Frill-necked Lizard neck frill replaces your neck frill, or lack thereof.
Different powers.
With the exception of human transformation (applicable if your character is not human in canon), all of your power set will be traded for one of the following powers:
3A) Ability to communicate with stones and bricks. Literally talking to a brick wall – any conversation and personality of said stones and bricks are up to your discretion.
3B) Ability to transform all liquids into any kind of brewed tea. Anything that has a liquid form applies, like blood.
3C) Ability to astral project into people’s awkward sex dreams. You must be sleeping for you to access this power.
3D) Ability to make a 2D object suddenly 3D, but only if the object begins with the letter Z, as according to the English language.
3E) Ability to make other people fly. Three people at a time, maximum. Any speed and altitude is possible.
3F) Ability to summon any number of angry Rottweiler dogs at any given time.
3G) Ability to create up to two doubles of yourself for up to two hours at a time – but one is always angry and paranoid and the other is always excessively romantic.
3H) Ability to make any kind of cooked meat sentient and capable of speech.
3I) Ability to fart rainbows.
3J) Ability to make clouds spell out your embarrassing internal thoughts.
3K) Ability to read twenty things at once, but only when someone is trying to talk to you.
3L) Ability to personally relive another character’s darkest or scariest moments of their life up to this point (which requires player permission).
Powers do not have to be consciously invoked. You can play them out suddenly happening, by accident, or you can play them out as occurring when your character tries to invoke their usual power set. Feel free to structure personal plots around these powers.
False memories
You will believe these memories are absolutely true, even if people use their powers to try to persuade you otherwise. This is not to say you are condemned to think these are true the WHOLE five weeks, but there is no "quick fix". You should emotionally and psychologically explore what you believe and what is true, if you want a resolving arc to rectify your character's beliefs. Regardless if your character still believes the false memories or not, these memories will be crisp and clear and haunting your mind until your five weeks are done. You are free to create what exactly consists of these false memories yourself, these are but prompts.
4A) Your best friend in the City is trying to kill you, and only a new friend (someone who is "untainted" by your best friend) can help you.
4B) You are not the species that you believed yourself to be up until your death.
4C) You are actually the reincarnation of Alcestis, and you believe someone you have CR with is the reincarnation of Admetus.
4D) Your greatest Cityverse enemy knows your deepest, darkest secret and you have to bargain with them to keep it hidden.
4E) Three of your friends have obscene crushes on you, and always have.
4F) You died horrifically to save someone in the City (someone who is not in a relationship with you) because of a deep affection, and you don't understand why they suddenly forgot this.
4G) You're the president of Manhattan.
4H) You actually created your friends, because you were so lonely. You believe your power is to create people to be your friend.
4I) You actually wrote the book that everyone in the City is from -- the one true canon!
4J) You killed the very person you were supposed to protect, and guilt plagues your waking moments.
4K) You are still dead.
4L) Someone significant to you betrayed you deeply last summer.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
It was suggested to me, and I think this is a good suggestion, that this post be “closed” to claiming for some hours, giving people a fair chance to mull over these specific suggestions and communicate with potential partners in crime. I will officially “open” the post on Thursday, June 20th, at 12:00pm PST. I will make a comment declaring this post officially open for the pickings, so it will be super clear. I will try to keep abreast updating what has been claimed in the content post, but I work a six day week, so updating at all hours just isn’t possible. Make sure to keep an eye on the comments for information on what’s taken already!
When you’re claiming a consequence, make mention of WHICH character is taking WHAT consequence (ex: Butts McGee, 2G).
Strikeouts on the list represent that a consequence has been claimed!

since feferi is naturally not human but was turned human for the city that potentially makes this option kind of funky (though i still want to do it); basically i'm unsure whether this would mean that she thinks she's always been human or if being made human is suddenly news to her even though in the city she's always been. is there then a specific way this effect should play out or is interpretation up to me?
