Capers is officially open! The log is here. As a reminder, your character will have their communicator with them, so they can make Network posts/interact with the Network still.

Any new questions/comments can go here, and this post can also be used to organized any plots-within-the plot you might like! There's opportunity for warrants being put out on rebellious characters who reject their roles, or gatherings at dance halls, or urgent secret messages by express courier, etc. Run with it!

The showdown log will come closer to the showdown date, so as to pace accordingly.

LOOKIN FER PLOTS okay so I have two characters with interesting limitations...

Sanji is set to be attacked by a woman. This is AWESOME. Because it means he won't fight back and will get his ass kicked. I'd love to tag-team that fight with someone else and their metaman if that's kosher.

Kotetsu has only five minutes of power. Which, if I wrote it out myself, means really short and uninteresting fight. He's very cautious about doling out his time limit, so he tends to wait until the right chance to activate it. Again, a tag-team would be interesting, or at the very least someone to shout snarky comments at him about running away fast from a safe distance.

Then question two: if Sharon has Eques attached to someone's shadow, say, the Mayor, or other longtime people who have lived in Capers, would she overhear or have any insight into things going on? Would it be possible for her to hear anything in shadow eavesdropping about possible happenings in town? (Or a slightly early heads up on when the Metamen make their move on the 28th?)

The homegrown residents of Capers aren't invested with Vulcanus, they're just pioneers on this universal outpost -- so stalking Mayor Eisner would render only mundane business about the town mines, water supplies, or gruesome dinosaur feasts. She might could overhear rumblings of organization against imPorts, or of Vulcanus being around (surely some of them would talk about Vulcanus!), or of the words Metamen or Skrulls dropped, but the actual details of the showdown won't be spoken from loose lips!

Jack is going to be accepting his cowherd role for the sake of blending in and being able to borrow some money, which will immediately be spent on guns since like hell is he staying unarmed in a situation like this. He will have some trouble learning how to use these old-timey weapons, though!

Mordin will accept his US Marshal role for the sake of cultural learning in this fascinating environment, but he'll spend most of his time chasing down NPC outlaws rather than focusing on ImPorts who reject their roles.

Calvin is a pioneer, which in this context is basically an explorer who gets to ride a dinosaur, so he's totally accepting that role. He will soon acquire a charming and supportive older sidekick who will follow along on his adventures and help guide the young scout on the dangerous frontier. What a swell guy, right?

She'll be trying to use her position as Deputy Sheriff to get townspeople to be less terrible to imPorts who aren't so happy about their roles. She'll definitely do what she can to support them.

In regards to fighting her Metaman she'll probably take him down on her own, but she's going to be ill for several hours afterwards, so any characters who'll be on hand to help with that would be very appreciated.

ALSO anyone who can shoot old-timey guns, please give her lessons!

So I am the LATEST, but I've been wanting to get some more new CR this plot and was wondering if you'd like to tag with me? Spidey has rejected his role as a hanging judge and has an open thread here, or I could tag into one of yours... or we could do Metaman stuff if you'd prefer, I'm pretty flexible.

Alana will likely come find him and try to get him to play ball with his town role, or at least make sure he knows he can come be safe at the sheriff's office if things get bad. I'll tag his thread!

Archer is going to be the town drunk in Capers. He'll initially reject this role, but when this means the townspeople try to drive him away from the railroad baroness, Miss Tohsaka, he'll grudgingly start accepting it.

Which means, since he doesn't have the greatest tolerance for alcohol, that he'll be constantly slightly tipsy and desperately trying to discreetly dispose of drinks bought for him by the locals.

That said, he'll manage to shake off the influence once he realizes he's being stalked by an actual user of projectile weapons (way to be preempted, Archer). However, he still won't take this guy very seriously, since guns are not usually a big threat to Servants. If anyone else wants to get involved in the final showdown and wind up hurt because of Archer's underestimation of his enemy, that might be cool.

So Nepeta is a homesteader, which is kind of beautiful considering she's all of fourteen. She's going to accept her role because OMG DINOSAURS but is going to be understandably garbage at working a homestead, so if you want to get involved in ridiculously horrible shenanigans I'm your girl.

Honestly I'm kind of hoping for a cattle!dino stampede to happen, although I don't know how feasible that actually is.

As to her metaman, he causes meteor showers in more great rng action. SHE MAY NEED SOME HELP since she's fast and used to fighting but they're still a bunch of goddamn meteors. So if you want to do some teamups that's cool too. o/

Bradbury is a Dino Express rider, a role he'll accept with some reluctance (seems harmless enough, after all) and eventually kind of be pretty good at. By necessity this means he's spending a lot of time on dino-back; of someone needs a ride or to be swept narrowly out of danger, he'd be happy to accommodate. In the alternative, people could hire him to transport valuable cargo and characters stuck with less savory roles could attempt to hijack him! I'd be happy to work out whatever.

His metaman can cause pretty unpleasant damage, and I don't have any plans for that! Backup would be appreciated.

Yako is a Hired Gun/Mercenary and while she'll initially reject her role, her stomach's eventually going to win out. I would love for her to team up with unlikely CR, including antagonistic types, and I'd find it funny if she had to face off against the people she usually calls her friends. She is a terrible shot and has no lethal skills to speak of, so "fights" are more likely to be "exercise in dodging bullets and flying debris."

Her metaman he'll likely need help putting down (see aforementioned lack of lethal skills) so please help. @A@ Her power is power enhancement so at least she can provide support!

GIL is the town barber and you honestly don't want a haircut from him unless you want to sit there for two hours while he panics about how much to cut and where to start, etc. He'll accept his role begrudgingly just to avoid trouble. His meta will be a bit of a challenge for him, but I definitely want him to pull through this one for once.

PEEJ is hired gun/mercenary who will reject her role and then... begrudgingly accept it because ew, trouble. However, she won't actually act on it. Her meta means I can do a team-up with two, three, even four people due to the amount of copies he can produce.

She'll probably be all right fighting her Metaman, but if anyone would like to help her, that'd be great! ♥ And I'm always happy to plot anything else too!

BELATED HI but Yako's also going to be rejecting her role as a mercenrary (at least initially) but she's going to eventually take it up because wow, she needs to eat. SO TWO POSSIBLE SCENARIOS:

1. Miserably subsisting off cacti and small desert dinosaurs in the outskirts as a pair of fellow rejects?
2. Shaking things up a bit by having her contracted to take Frank in once she's glumly accepted her mercenary role?

Let me know what you'd be more interested in! I'm planning to tag out with her more in the threads myself, but I could easily throw a closed thread up or something.

Daria is a Dino Express Rider and will be accepting the role reluctantly. She just won't be very good at it.

Her metaman is probably pretty dangerous, and considering Daria has no offensive powers, I'd love if someone could step in to help her out! Daria does have some power boosting abilities, but she's extremely inexperienced with them, so it should be fun to play out if anyone is interested!

Hannibal is a bounty hunter because RNG just knows, man. It's a free pass to murder people so I can't see why he'd pass it up unless it was an imPort. Otherwise he'd have a 100% success rate but if someone wanted to their character to have a bounty on their head and him be assigned to them I wouldn't mind working something out.

His metaman is going to have him questioning his sanity (as much as he ever does) but I figure he could deal with it because he's already insane and killed a guy who attacked him with a harpsichord wire, but if anyone wanted to help out, that'd be great!

What will happen to any Metamen our characters capture? Will they get thrown in the Capers hoosegow, Ported back to the Cityverse to stand trial, or something else?

You could do either! Capers would seek justice -- although Eisner might be capricious in his views on how individuals should function in a social structure, he's very keen to keep the peace of his town. Or an imPort could take back a metaman with them, in a plot to publicly defame Vulcanus through the legal system! Such would be a plot a player would maintain, but the media impact could be very interesting! Or a metaman could sneak their way back into the City and be used as a reoccurring villain, even.
