Hey guys! It's time for Yet Even More Modposts! Yeah! One day these will stop being every other day, but for now you are stuck listening to me babble a lot.
First things first! It looks like the comment import from logs comm was a success, so everything should be right where it belongs now on that side. I've skipped back a couple months to make sure the comment numbers per entry match, and for the most part any deviation is due to people picking up and getting going on the DW side. This is good! I have heard at least one instance of comments being duplicated in a single post and also being attributed to anonymous? This is not something I've seen myself, but if you see any further issues on the logs side, let me know! We are... still working on the tag issue. ._. Since main comm is huge and also because DW just opened up importing to everyone, the queue there is kind of obscene.
Second: As I've mentioned a few times, there's a small handful of players who have neglected or declined to take the appropriate steps necessary to follow us over here to DW. While I and the rest of the mod team have made our best effort to pull those stragglers in with all of you, even email missives and private messages have not done the trick. Therefore, as stated, those characters are now considered dropped from the game. Should those players wish to rejoin, they are welcome to -- though they will need to go through the full application process to do so. The total number of characters lost this way has been ten, and the full list can be found on the drops post.
Third: As you may have already noticed, we haven't quite managed to pull over every ooc informational post, and instead there are a lot of placeholders. We are still working on getting the rest cleaned up and streamlined (as we don't really need six or seven posts on setting alone, do we?). But some pages are up, and some information has changed. Under the cut I'm going to talk about the mod contact pages and information related to applications, where they are, and what's changed. In the coming days there will be additional posts covering, well, other posts! But you know how long-winded I am!

The first is hosted on OOC, and contains all the unique methods of contact for each of the moderators, as well as descriptions where each mod specializes. (So, for example, if you try coming to me with plot questions, I will flail my arms uselessly at you and possibly cry.) You may also respond to that post with general contact issues.
But since OOC maintains IP-tracking on all comments, we know that sometimes a player will need to bring a matter to the moderators' attention without wanting to draw unique focus to their identity. So, we also have an anon-enabled, disabled ip-logging contact post here. In both cases, all comments are screened, and any conversations hosted there will be completely confidential.
● Applications have also gotten a few adjustments. HENCEFORTH, ALL APPLICATIONS ARE TO HAVE THEIR FULL TEXT POSTED IN THE COMMENTS. PERIOD!!
On DW, you're allowed to reply to your own comments even if they are screened. As such, we expect applicants to make a header comment, then reply to that with the text of their application in the comments thereafter. This is to ensure that applicants aren't submitting incomplete applications, or giving them extensive edits while they're processing.
As to the form itself, there's been some minor aesthetic adjustments:
● The Application FAQ has been updated with some additional clarifications, based on information we've gathered during cycles between now and when this was last updated. Such changes include:

- "Fandom" has been renamed to "Series"
- "Superhero Name" and "Alter Ego" have been removed.
- "First-person sample" has been renamed to "Community post (voice) sample;" "Third-person sample" has been renamed to "Logs post (prose) sample." The criteria and explanations for each have remained unchanged.
- The additional query "Inventory, status of health, etc?" has been added to the Final Notes section.
● The Application FAQ has been updated with some additional clarifications, based on information we've gathered during cycles between now and when this was last updated. Such changes include:
- The examples for "Player Avatar"-type have been removed.
- "Original characters" has been clarified to "player-created or unpublished original characters."
- Clarification with regards to "importing" characters from other roleplays has been added. (In short: we don't allow it, and likely never will.)
- With regards to minimum canon requirements, the following information has been added:
- ✖ Are there any restrictions on that?
Well, if the canon is brand new and in progress, or the character has been very recently introduced into an ongoing series, we may request you hold back on applying for the character until more canon material is available. But other than that, go nuts! - The long-winded example on double-soul characters has been removed.
- The "villain cap" has been completely obliterated. There is no longer a special process associated with applying for a villainous character.
- The answer to "So how do applications work? How should I post it?" has been changed to:
- All applications are screened! At present, we require that you post your application in the body of the comment reply. Our preferred format is a single top-level comment containing your information and the character being applied for, with replies to that comment containing the text of your application.
If and when Dreamwidth returns to an invite code-based registration, applicants who possess no DW account will be allowed to email their application. - The following clarification has been added under Powers as a part of Application Grading:
- "If your character is non-human and you wish for them to remain so, you must declare this in the powers section. Otherwise they will be humanized by default!"
- The following sub-section has been added under Application Grading:
- Final Notes:
This is where you can declare anything that may not be patently obvious from elsewhere in the application. Are they carrying any important or ridiculous items? Are they going to bleed out dying all over the floor the moment they arrive? You may also ask questions of the moderators here. Additionally, if or when Dreamwidth moves back to invite-based account creation, you may request one here.
