✖ HOWS MY DRIVING?✖

New to the game? New characters? Just a little unsure of how you're doing? That's what this is here for, people.

How it works: Comment here - others will reply to that comment with what they have to say, and hopefully many lulz and happifuntimes will be had. We're encouraging asking questions if you don't know why or how a character got to the point they're at in game, and we're encouraging constructive criticism that isn't:

"Oh, you're so good bb!"
or
"I hate you. Diaf."

So make it good! You only get one shot every other month, right? At any rate, before you go off to comment, remember: You will get comments you agree with, and you will get comments you don't agree with; thus is the way of life. Don't take it personal. Don't get angry and start trolling. These people don't have anything against you as a person — unless, uh, they do, which we won't abide by — and we're all here to have fun, right? So let's act like it.

Anonymous comments have been temporarily enabled in the OOC community for the sake of anonymous crit, but as this privilege was abused last time and the moderators had to intervene, as promised we are keeping logging IP on. We will not be checking the IP-addresses unless things get out of hand, nor will we be sharing them ever, but this is a measure in place to help prevent further abuse of anonymous commenting. If this causes discomfort, most players, as well as the mods, have personal HMDs on their journals. You are also free to contact any moderators privately or by PMing this account.

Go forth and conquer, Cape and Cowl.

Other comments? Jack has been in-game for over two years, and Calvin and the Major are closer to three. Although they haven't changed much, those years were very eventful ones and they have left their marks. I would particularly like feedback on plots, such as Jack's scandal and participation in Skrullplot, or the Major's schemes.

hi hi, posting the following on behalf of another party:

I am impressed about the decision to punish a character like Jack in ways that reflect his canon, but I'd like to know if there are plans for his consequences to be more extensive than a few weeks stint in the slammer? For torture, international terrorism, and covering up of same while holding the position of office that he does during a time of strong anti-import sentiment, I am concerned about ic actions meriting ic consequences all the way. Thank you for your time!

Thanks olesia and person-olesia-is-posting-for! The consequences for Jack's plot are for all intents and purposes permanent. He won't be in prison forever, but once he's out he will remain a publicly disgraced wanted fugitive, hunted by his former colleagues. Considering the international nature of many of his offenses, he won't be able to escape the heat by leaving the country either. He'll lose his home along with his employment and reputation, his only remaining haven being a small safehouse. The only allies he'll have left will be whoever is willing to overlook his actions. Everyone who helps him or remains his ally will be put in danger of arrest from associating with him.

Not only that, but any 'work' he does once out of prison will be extremely difficult: law enforcement is unlikely to charge or successfully prosecute any suspects apprehended by someone with his record, so it's not like he can just join the City's vigilante population and operate the same way as a Bat or Spider. And 'reformation' along the lines of Norman Osborn is not an option for him. Naturally, all forms of an ordinary social life will be right out.

He won't be able to hold any kind of legitimate position again unless he does something ridiculously over-the-top to redeem himself in the public eye, which would be a big plot in itself that would happen waaaaaaay down the line once I run out of fugitive stuff to do. Long story short, Jack's life as it has been in the City for the past two years has been ruined by this plot. He will have to build a new one from the ground up, trying to continue his work while constantly being hunted and known to the world as a disgraced rogue.

Thank you for asking, and I hope this sounds suitably extensive!
