Hi all, Uni and work have been kicking my butt the last month or so, but with Uni finally all over, and work easing up I can finally get back into things properly!

School of Thunder Dojo Stuff!

Okay, I was going to put this off till after certain events in January but I think it'll be more if more people are involved so ANYWAY! Some basic stuff!

For those that don't know, there is a dojo in the city called the School of Thunder. It was started by Iron Fist, then taken over by Black Bat, then Reilly and Laura, and now just Laura! It's changed some over the years, and is run mostly on donations and a few pay classes. Otherwise there are free classes for poorer kids, and it gives them a place to go during the day that doesn't involve crime or gangs or getting in trouble!

There has been a lot of attrition and such over the years, so this is sort of a...catch all figure things out OOC post? Basically, I need to know who volunteers at the dojo, what they'd want to teach, and such.

There's also space for two paid teachers, because everyone Laura knows is getting on her case that she's doing too much, so she's conceding the point that she could use some help. At the moment the only employees are Laura, Archer and Jessica Wakefield part time doing the bookkeeping. There are a few volunteers (Matt, Rachel, Bond) but if you could check in and let me know anyway if a character is still volunteering that'd be great.

SO! Does your character want to volunteer? Or apply for a job? Have a younger character who'd be a student there, whether in the pay class or one of the free ones? A street rat looking for a place to crash? Let me know! I'm going to organize an OOC post on Laura's journal once I have everything sorted so...say something here, please.

Volunteers would have to pass a basic interview with Laura where she decided she they can be trusted with kids, and anyone applying for the actual paid positions will have to show her they can fight and the style they'd be teaching and such. We can handwave volunteering, OR there is a thread in the recent mingling post where people can go and talk to her!

Hi, I was gone for awhile again because my internet provider are a bunch of monkeys, so I'm behind on everything ever. If I missed anything important please point me there.

Meanwhile, I figured I'd make an OOC post about this to get interest/things straight. Pickles will eventually want to start a baaaaaaaaaaand. His plan for now is for him to be vocalist and lead guitarist, but he needs, well, everything else. That can include: rhythm guitar, drums, bass and perhaps keyboards.

I know Setine wants Cross to do keyboards, but basically all other positions are open if there's any characters out there that can actually play those instruments in a heavy metal/hard rock way and you want them involved. (He won't be doing death metal, Pickles doesn't have the guitar skills or vocal capacity to try to make the next Dethklok.) They have to actually be good to get in the band--unless he's so desperate he'll take whatever, but eventually that person will be canned whenever he finds someone better, PC or NPC. Sahrry. But maybe you want your character to go through such crushing ego blows? It's always fun. Anyone chosen for the job will also be expected to dress up like a douche, because gimmicks are a quick way to get fans and thus money. Idiot fans eat that shit up. Also, if any of his other bandmates somehow miraculously show up, they will immediately be put in the band and the other person canned as well...just so you know.

He'll put up an ad sometime, so even if you don't want your character chosen they can reply for funsie and be rejected. If there's no PCs to fill these spots, he will eventually find NPCs, so keep on a look out for a new hot band making the rounds.
