New to the game? New characters? Just a little unsure of how you're doing? That's what this is here for, people.

How it works: Comment here - others will reply to that comment with what they have to say, and hopefully many lulz and happifuntimes will be had. We're encouraging asking questions if you don't know why or how a character got to the point they're at in game, and we're encouraging constructive criticism that isn't:

"Oh, you're so good bb!"
or
"I hate you. Diaf."

So make it good! You only get one shot every other month, right? At any rate, before you go off to comment, remember: You will get comments you agree with, and you will get comments you don't agree with; thus is the way of life. Don't take it personal. Don't get angry and start trolling. These people don't have anything against you as a person — unless, uh, they do, which we won't abide by — and we're all here to have fun, right? So let's act like it.

Anonymous comments have been temporarily enabled in the OOC community for the sake of anonymous crit, but as this privilege was abused last time and the moderators had to intervene, as promised this time around we are keeping logging IP on. We will not be checking the IP-addresses unless things get out of hand, nor will we be sharing them ever, but this is a measure in place to help prevent further abuse of anonymous commenting. If this causes discomfort, most players, as well as the mods, have personal HMDs on their journals. You are also free to contact any moderators privately or by PMing this account.

I had a question about Sherlock's recent post. What is the motivation behind the use of codes? Codes seem more like a Moriarty behaviour, and that seems weird for Sherlock. Is there a recent development behind this choice that I can refer to?

Hello! Yes, there are a few things c:

The first being the Skrull plot from January - Sherlock and a few other characters solved that code, and the plot is still ongoing... I unfortunately thought that they were still solving the code but I am a bit of a moron sometimes and apparently they already IC solved it months ago ;; it was supposed to be a 'well this is something I was working on so time to come at it from a different angle'.... So unfortunately the original thought behind the post is kind of moot, which is a mistake on my part but it was a bit too late to delete the post.

Which leads to the second point. Sherlock in-city has Perfect Memory in regard to his cases - and because the Skrull plot is an on-going case, he's unable to forget it. And since he's had very little to do recently (and is incredibly bored) he's had to think over and over it for months.

The third point relates to his other Porter-based power, which is his thought projection. Originally upon gaining it, his thoughts were open for everyone to read - any time he made a deduction or observation, tiny white notes would appear, which started annoying him very quickly (and likely annoyed everyone else). Edward Nygma ended up giving him lessons to encrypt these - so for months now he has been encrypting his own thoughts on a regular basis. It's been brought to his attention more firmly by his recent log with John, though that log hasn't finished yet so the reasons why might not yet be clear.

Though the post is in code, it's a very in-character post... There is definitely absolutely nothing criminal about it!

Does that clear things up a bit, or does it still feel OOC?
